What is Design Workshop?

Our ‘Design Workshop’ programme quickly identifies the key opportunities and challenges of your project right at the start, whilst minimising up front financial commitment. Although usually hosted in our city centre studio premises, where we have direct access to the full scope of our technical resources, knowledge base and equipment, we can come to you or carry out the workshop online if its more convenient.

Format

The workshops are based on a simple single fee which is agreed up front, so there is no ongoing commitment or complicated appointment. The content will usually cover:

• The scope for development, layout options key constraints, impediments to progress and sustainability aspects.
• Planning status – including permitted development, conservation area and listed building.
• Routes to building regulations compliance.
• Selecting procurement routes and appointing contractors.

Furthermore, we can draw in specialist input as required in respect of cost, structures, arboriculture, archaeology, acoustics, building services, sustainability etc as required.

Availability

We can normally organise a Design Workshop within 7 working days of agreeing fees and can be outside normal studio hours / weekend if required. A summary report is generally issued during the following week. Design Workshop is a cost efficient way to get reliable professional advice in the short term.
